Although YANG Weizhen(杨维桢) spent most of his life in seclusion and only a brief period in official positions, his lifelong aspiration was to enter the imperial court and achieve enduring fame. During his reclusive years in Hangzhou and Pingjiang, he developed a refined and carefree persona, engaging in poetic and convivial exchanges with literati of Jiangnan and adopting a hedonistic view of life. However, his repeated efforts to seek recommendations for reinstatement to officialdom and his authorship of Debate on the Orthodoxy of the Three Histories (《三史正统辩》)reveal a stable and intense attachment to the imperial court. During his later years in seclusion in Songjiang, despite his close association with reclusive scholars and his self-identification as a "man blessed by the moon and breeze(风月福人)", his active interaction with officials of ZHANG Shicheng(张士诚)'s regime and his encouragement of disciples to join ZHANG Shicheng's administration demonstrate a stronger inclination toward courtly engagement than retreating into the Jianghu(江湖), which he pursued only out of frustration when official aspirations proved unattainable. After the establishment of the Ming dynasty, YANG outwardly maintained his commitment to reclusion, yet works such as Preface to Escorting Supervisor WANG Gaichang on His Return to the Capital (《送检校王君盖昌还京序》)and Preface to the Taoist Master CAO Zhongxiu(《赠术士曹仲修序》)reveal his ardent desire to join the new court, where he could fulfill his ambitions of codifying rituals and compiling histories. Throughout his life, despite his indulgence in the pleasures of travel, poetry, and poetic and wine gatherings of the literati, as well as his eccentric behavior and unconventional writing style, YANG Weizhen never relinquished the Confucian ideal of assuming responsibility for transmitting moral teachings and compiling histories. His unwavering attachment to the court remained the most stable element of his psychological framework.
State-level new areas are new regional organizations and comprehensive functional platforms built on the city-region scale. State-level new areas cooperation has become a new model for achieving cross-regional collaborative innovation and development. The article takes spatial production as a key perspective to understand cross-regional collaborative innovation cooperation in state-level new areas, based on the study of typical cases of collaborative innovation cooperation in Chongqing Liangjiang state-level new area and Sichuan Tianfu state-level new area, the findings show that collaborative innovation cooperation in state-level new areas is rooted in the political, economic, institutional and social environment of the region, and is inseparable from the integration function of spatial production factors such as power, capital, policy, and social network, and has gone through three spatial integration stages: weak connection, intermediary connection, and strong connection. Among them, power reconstruction is the core driving force of spatial production, capital de-regionalization is the forerunner of spatial production, policy boundary weakening is an important institutional foundation for spatial production, and collaborative networks play an important connecting role.
Metropolitan areas are pivotal in regional coordinated development within urban agglomerations, nonetheless, imbalances among them remain underexplored in academic research. In the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), the "Shenzhen-Dongguan-Huizhou" (SDH) and "Zhuhai-Zhongshan-Jiangmen" (ZZJ) metropolitan areas, initially comparable parity in geographic proximity and resource endowments during the early years of reform and opening-up, have diverged significantly, with SDH achieving substantial developmental advantages over ZZJ. In light of the interplay between top-down policy directives and local responses as the hallmarks of China's governance, by adopting the policy accumulation framework, this study investigates the roles of policy density and policy scale in shaping these disparities across four policy domains—innovation, industry, funding, and talent—between 2000 and 2022. The findings indicate these imbalances can be attributed to three key dynamics: vertical escalation of policies, horizontal disparities in policy accumulation, and uncoordinated accumulation of policy evolution. This research advances the insights of disparities among metropolitan areas in terms of policy aspects. By offering the associations and mechanisms of policy-induced imbalances, the research provides a competitive framework for urban governance and policy analysis.
In the early Edo period, Shushi bunpan compiled by Japanese Neo-Confucianist scholar Kaibara Ekiken was the earliest anthology of ZHU Xi's articles in Japan, which played an important role in the dissemination of ZHU Xi's thoughts in Japan. Kaibara Ekiken's works emphasized simplicity and easy understanding, and Shushi bunpan also popularized ZHU Xi's thoughts in the form of anthology, which helped ZHU Xi's philosophy become a "general knowledge" in the Edo period. The compilation of Shushi bunpan was also a response to the anti- Zhuzi School at that time, represented by the "School of Ancient Meanings" of Ito Jinsai and Ogyu Sorai. Seventy selected articles from Shushi bunpan cover various genres of ZHU Xi's writings, with a particular emphasis on his ideological works, reading book, and self-cultivation. From the perspective of the history of East Asian Sinographic literature, Korean scholars had also compiled anthologies of ZHU Xi's articles, such as Chuja munrok, Chumun choson, and Chuja hoeson. These anthologies have similarities and differences with Shushi bunpan, reflecting the different aspects of East Asian scholars' reading and appreciation of ZHU Xi's articles.
RAI Sanyo, a Japanese Sinologist in the late Edo period, was known as "Japanese SU Shi". RAI's acceptance of SU Shi's articles was widely found in his literary criticism and creation, and centered on historical and policy argumentation. As an article critic, RAI analyzed and summarized SU Shi's five organizations of writing, pointing out that there are two sides including creating and following the organizations. RAI's comments closely follow the vein of the Southern Song Dynasty's literary criticism, and is also one of the manifestations of the development of the practical Japanese literary criticism from lexicography, random talk to guideline book. As a statecraft ideologist, RAI's Nihon Gaishi was influenced by SU Shi's historical argumentation and attached importance to learning from the past, while Tsugi was deeply influenced by SU Shi's policy argumentation from layout to political thoughts. RAI's praise of SU Shi's historical and policy argumentation conforms to the practical thought of pursuing the transformation of reality in the late Edo period, and also contributes to the popularity of Dongpo Policy. RAI Sanyo became an iconic figure, indicating the acceptance of SU Shi 's articles during the Edo period turns to historical and policy argumentation and their application to the world.
SU Shi's journey to Mount Lu in the seventh year of the Yuanfeng era was a rare moment of mental release in his life. He came with the intention of recognizing the true face of Mount Lu, prepared for the contemplative observation, but was stirred by the scenery along the way into poetic inspiration. His poem "Presented to the Zen Master of Donglin Changzong" was a response to the "Heartless Teaching" koan and also a Zen answer to Zen Master of Changzong. At that time, the poem did not receive the approval of Zen Master Changzong. In the Southern Song Dynasty, it was criticized by the Zen community because it reflected the poet's selection of beautiful scenery, which contradicts the Buddhist principle of non-duality between form and emptiness. In "Inscribed on the Wall of West Forest Temple, " SU Shi admits that he "does not recognize the true face of Mount Lu, " fully immersing himself in the world of life represented by "this mountain." This is a "non-enlightenment" in the Buddhist Zen sense, but it is also the poet's self-awareness and self-affirmation. "Inscribed on the Wall of West Forest Temple" rather than "Presented to the Zen Master of Donglin Changzong " is the true answer to SU Shi's "original face." On this journey to Mount Lu, Su Shi did not "enlighten" to Zen, but "enlightened" to his own true face. Aesthetics rather than Zen enlightenment is the path of SU Shi.
Multisensory processing is a fundamental cognitive function that underlies perception, attention, memory, language, and learning. Understanding the neurocognitive mechanisms of this function is of great theoretical and practical significance for understanding the principles of the human mind and for guiding the development of multisensory artificial intelligence. However, the mechanisms of multisensory information processing are extremely complex, and systematic review is essential for accurately understanding the cutting-edge progress in this field and inspiring future research. In this review paper, we first introduced the functional characteristics and response principles of multisensory neurons in the brain. Then, we discussed the mechanisms of cross-modal modulation between primary cortical areas. After that, we focused on the functions and computational mechanisms of multisensory areas and hierarchical multisensory brain networks. Lately, we discussed how studying human multisensory processing can inform the development of multisensory artificial intelligence.
People often use the words "life is great", "human life is Paramount", "human death is inevitable, or heavier than Mount Tai, or lighter than a feather" to process and understand the concept of the meaning of life. However, it is unclear whether there is a metaphorical connection between the concept of life meaning and the embodied perception of size, up and down and weight. This paper explores the metaphorical representation of the meaning of life from the perspective of embodied metaphor. Stroop priming paradigm was used in experiment 1 and experiment 2 to explore the metaphorical connection between size, up and down and meaning of life respectively. In experiment 3, the balance paradigm was used to explore the metaphorical representation between weight and meaning of life. The results show that there are metaphorical representations between size, up and down, weight and meaning of life, and there are metaphorical congruence effects. Theoretically, it enriches the embodied theory of conceptual metaphorical representation; In practice, it is helpful to provide reference value for embodied cognition of life meaning, and also to provide a reference basis for individual life education intervention.
The current study conducted a questionnaire survey on 802 college students to explore the relation between short video addiction and academic achievement, as well as the mediating role of learning engagement and the moderating role of academic self-efficacy in this relation. The results indicated that: (1) short video addiction negatively predicted college students' academic performance; (2) learning engagement played a partial mediating role in the relation between short video addiction and college students' academic performance, and short video addiction led to the decline of college students' academic performance by reducing learning engagement; (3) academic self-efficacy can significantly moderate the relation between learning engagement and college students' academic performance. That is, the predictive effect of learning engagement on college students' academic performance is stronger in individuals with high academic self-efficacy.
The Internet hot words"xx partner", means that it is specifically for the youth group, and is a temporary partnership based on consistent life demands and interests in the Internet era. It reflects a social situation: in the process of modernization, young people are struggling to cope with complex interpersonal relationships under the pressure of fast-paced life, and at the same time have the psychological needs of identity, exploration of new emotional experiences and longing for companionship. In this paper, we take the Internet hot word "xx partner" as the object, from the structural features, semantic sources, popular reasons for three aspects of analysis. The main conclusions are as follows: "xx partner"is a noun phrase with biased structure, simple form and clear meaning; The modifier "xx"can be both a verb, a noun and an adjective, which covers a wide range, making the language construction "xx"has a strong word-formation ability. Modern society has given "partner" a new connotation, "xx partner"is an important expression of the connection between people beginning to change from relationship-based to matter-based, its rise is related to the characteristics of language communication in the network context, social development and scientific and technological progress and people's psychological changes.
Inter-provincial horizontal benefit compensation mechanism between major grain-producing areas and major grain-consuming areas (IHBCM) is the key instrument for supporting major grain-production areas and ensuring food security, of which clarifying the goal of compensation is the prerequisite. Learning from the history of policy evolution, the main realistic goal of benefit compensation is to improve the "two motivations" and promote "producer-consumer collaboration". The internal logic of benefit compensation mechanism is to solve the "principal-agent" problem between the central government and local government. However, the ongoing compensation policy based on central transfer payments faces many difficulties when dealing with the above goal. In view of the shortcomings of the ongoing compensation policy, the IHBCM should be established with the fund system and performance assessment system as the main carriers, so as to improve "two positive" and promote "producer-consumer collaboration", which contains the endogenous compensation, the exogenous compensation, the industrial chain construction, the supply chain construction and market construction.
Expanding areas and improving standards of cereal insurance is an important part of the exploration of policy-based agricultural insurance in recent years. Based on the data of CRRS, we analysed the current situation and characteristics of cereal insurance development, and found that the breadth and depth of cereal insurance coverage still need to be expanded, the lack of awareness of risk management is one of the important reasons for the low motivation of cereal farmers to participate in insurance, and the poor availability of agricultural insurance services is the main problem of the lack of effective supply of cereal insurance. At the same time, the poor availability of agricultural insurance services is the key problem for the lack of effective supply of cereal insurance, and the increase in the insured amount of cereal insurance does not necessarily mean an improvement in the level of protection. The imprecision of underwriting and claims may lead to high insurance losses. The increase in the insured amount of cereal insurance does not necessarily mean the improvement of the protection level, and the imprecision of underwriting and claims may lead to the failure of high protection insurance to effectively guide the large-scale operation. Therefore, we should further improve the insurance-against-risks system of the food industry at the top level, establish a diversified development mechanism of the agricultural insurance market to effectively serve the construction of a strong agricultural country, promote the innovation of the agricultural insurance system to improve the availability of cereal insurance, optimize the ecology of the agricultural insurance industry and promote the construction of a diversified risk management organization system for the food industry, break down the institutional and technological barriers that hinder the development of agricultural insurance, and promote the improvement of the underwriting and claims handling of the agricultural insurance industry to enhance the protection level. It will also promote the agricultural insurance industry to enhance the accuracy of underwriting and claim settlement, and effectively improve the level of insurance protection for cereals.
Historical initiative refers to the conscious awareness, independent spirit, and unique practice of historical subjects in grasping the overall trend of history, perceiving historical laws, leading the direction of history, and promoting historical progress. The Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Party, based on the internal logic of reform evolution, timely pushed reform into a further stage of comprehensive deepening, and established the principles, methods, and practical directions for further comprehensive deepening of reform. This has highlighted the historical initiative of the CPC. The historical initiative of the CPC is generated based on historical consciousness and confidence, reflecting the inherent qualities of the Party as a mission-oriented political party. It interprets the spiritual code of the CPC's path to success from one dimension and has become an important spiritual symbol of the CPC.
After Marx's passing, Engels shouldered the theoretical banner of Marxism alone. He combined new developments in capitalism and new practices in the proletarian movement, facing various erroneous trends opposing Marxism, and wrote over 30 prefaces, postscripts, and introductions for re-editions and new editions of their previous works. Engels continued Marx's theoretical tradition of combating various erroneous trends, provided a comprehensive analysis of Marxist theory, staunchly defended and developed Marxism, and developed a unique style of interpreting Marx's teachings in his later years. Engels not only enriched the theoretical achievements of the Marxist ideological treasury and contributed to the construction of Marxist views but also provided a "key" for future generations to understand and grasp his late-life thoughts and theoretical contributions.
Classic texts of Marx are the direct product of his study and narration on the bourgeois society and its self-denial. It is precisely due to the tension between social individualization and social nationalization that bourgeois society often exhibits a state of self denial. With the rise of the bourgeoisie and the development of bourgeois society, the modern nation-state also gains the historical origin and theoretical defence. On this basis, Marx profoundly revealed the social nationalization of bourgeois society. This tendency not only promotes the self-denial of bourgeois society, but also forges bourgeois society into an integrated political world. In Marx's perspective, the national principle behind the social nationalization is reflected both in Hegelian theoretical propositions and in the political realities of modern society. By thoroughly grasping the national principle, Marx fully demonstrated the basic orientation of national socialization in theoretical exploration, presenting a unique theoretical imagination.
