The Current Situation, Difficulties and Countermeasures of University Student Exchange in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area

The cooperation and exchange among university students from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao is an indispensable link in the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay and of the education and talent highland of the Greater Bay Area. The state and the governments of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao have introduced a series of policies and plans aiming at promoting mutual enrollments, joint trainings, teacher-student exchanges, cultural exchanges, internship exchanges and innovation and entrepreneurship exchanges among university students from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, so as to enhance mutual understanding, cultural identification and national identification among university students from the three areas. The current situation of university student exchange in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao is analyzed, the difficulties encountered in the process of university student exchange are clarified, and the countermeasures, such as improving the university student exchange system and legal system in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, promoting the "two-way exchange" of students, enriching the student exchange system and strengthening the cultural identification of university students, are proposed.
