  • The outbreak of the 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has brought people a series of negative psychological re-sponses.Based on the fact that there are many individuals affected by the COVID-19 and there is a shortage of resources for psychologi-cal assistance,it is particularly important to understand the underlying mechanism of self-compassion's effect on post-traumatic nega-tive psychological reactions and the related self-adjusting strategies. This paper demonstrated the mechanism from the positive and nega-tive aspects, analyzed the effect of factors such as individual cognition, emotions and coping styles in the mechanism, and proposed in-tervention strategies for the individuals'negative psychological responses under the COVID-19 combining with the current self-compas-sion related psychological treatment programs.
