The Profound Influences of the Digital Economy on the World Economy and Its Global Governance

Digital economy has exerted a profound influence on world economy since its emergence and has become a driving force for global economy growth. It has changed the international economic landscape to some extent. At the same time, the development of digital economy is faced with a series of governance problems such as lack of international regulations and taxation principles, data abuse, digital divide and unfair competitions. It is urgent to form a reasonable global governance mechanism. The formulation of a basic framework for global governance adapted to the development of digital economy should follow the principles conductive to the digital and related technological innovation, data sharing and use of digital technologies to address some global crises, eliminating data abuse, and narrowing the digital divide. There should be established a multilateral consultation mechanism, in which the United Nations should play a role. As a major country in the digital economy, China can offer its wisdom and solutions for building a more rational global governance mechanism.
