Digital-Intelligent Tactile Literary and Artistic Aesthetics for the Future

  • With the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence technology, the shift from visual culture to tactile culture has gained greater feasibility. Empowered by digital intelligence, interactive novels, cloud-based museums, and immersive experience exhibitions will be created, endowing subjects with strong embodied practice and affective potential. In science fiction literature, tactile feedback mechanisms have emerged as a core narrative driver. They construct a novel sensory cognitive aesthetics through three pathways: First, tactile feedback enhances the affective experience of mind and body; Second, the fusion of "body-interface" deepens embodied practice; Third, digital intelligence technologies facilitate the integration of multi-sensory modalities. Compared to visual aesthetics, tactile aesthetics reduces aesthetic distance through the presence or absence of tactile feedback, bringing new transformations to aesthetic experiences. Furthermore, "touch-feedback" enables interaction between users and system programs. By embodying touch-as-narrative, enabling user participation in branching plot construction, and adopting embedded narrative modes, it propels the development of digital interactive narratology. This holds significant practical and theoretical implications for innovating digital-intelligent literary and artistic theories.
