Mending the Sky: The Modern Narration about the Thought of Nurturing Man and "Nu Wa Made Human Being"

  • Lu Xun tries to narrate the origin of the human being in his historical novel Mending the Sky and fixes the starting point of the nurturing man and the image of the primitive man. It embodies the dialectical relationship through the mutual generation between the Goddess and the human being in the story Nu Wa Made Human Being. The self-reliance is the key to going from nurturing man to becoming fully-grown. The naked Goddess lights the ideal space of the female narrative in Chinese literature.
