The Underlying Logic and Implementation Pathways of Pedagogical Reform in Teacher Education Curricula Under the New Curriculum Standards

Promoting pedagogical reform within teacher education curricula and cultivating new-type teachers who implement the New Curriculum Standards represent the fundamental approach to materializing the core tenets of the New Curriculum Standards. Teaching reforms of teacher education curricula guided by the aforementioned underlying logic are mainly hindered by three bottlenecks: inadequate professional competencies of teacher educators, low targeted relevance of teacher education curricula, and insufficient learning engagement among student teachers.The main pathways to advance such pedagogical reform include reconstructing curricula around teachers' professional practice, improving the competency of teacher educators via dual-qualified teacher training, and boosting learning engagement through digitalized instruction.
