Abstract
Internet has the characteristics of freedom, openness, equality and sharing and hence a certain empowering function. As a medium that can be controlled and utilized, the internet also has a strong social control function. Different from the traditional rigid and explicit control, the control of internet is more flexible and implicit. With the help of the theory of "spectacle society", it can be found that the internet has obviously promoted the spectacle control, which is manifested in the deepening of alienation, the acceleration of expansion and the deeper concealment of control. The pursuit of public value and public interest is the key to removing the "spectacle control". The specific path includes limiting the negative role of capital power to expand the public value orientation of cyberspace, promoting the citizenship of internet users and highlighting the awareness of public responsibility and public spirit in the media system.
