Abstract: Professor Rao Zongyi has paid great attention to geographical questions in his historical study. Three characters could be identified in his geographical study. The first, his studies are mainly about the geography of the early times of Chinese history; the second, he likes to use the archaeological materials in the study; the third, he keeps a vast view about the early geography. His studies are very valuable in the field of historical geography.
