Abstract: In the course of more than 100 years of Chinese modernization, the Communist Party of China (CPC) has played a leading role and formed a unique leadership approach which includes the followings. The CPC has clarified the basic direction of Chinese modernization, that is, adhering to the leadership of the CPC, adhering to the nature of socialism, and adhering to a people-centered perspective. The CPC has formulated and adjusted the strategy of Chinese modernization from the reality, and forged a road map suitable for the tasks and characteristics of each historical stage. The CPC has fully attached importance to the role of the system, given full play to its advantages, built and improved the system of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and provided necessary institutional support and norms for Chinese modernization. The CPC has fully affirmed the principal status of the people in the path of modernization, implemented the Party's mass line, adhered to promoting the whole-process people's democracy, and worked hard to meet the people's needs for a better life, so as to enhance the cohesive force for Chinese modernization.
